When I first thought about doing these custom frames I wanted to make them all unique in their own way. So I started playing around with ideas. I really wanted to offer the frames in a different colorway than the official Black & Tangerine anniversary production models. The decals are die cut and transferred onto the frame. This process isn’t so easy because if I messed up at any point, I would’ve had to start all over again. And I did….a few time lol.

THE FRAME:

I had this frame sent to Static Coatings to get this awesome purple bling powder coat. The color is also transparent so you can see the rawness of the frame underneath. The sparkles and transparent purple with the raw showing through makes this frame look different every time you look at it. You really have to see the frame in person to get the full effect. It was hard to get the camera to show how purple the frame is lol.

I used a more traditional style of letter on this frame. But I wanted to keep it slightly different from the norm and had a stripe going through the letters. White was the decal color of choice and it makes a good contrast to the purple. I also made several blocky rectangles that fade along the top tube. Smaller versions of this pattern was used on the chain stay, seat tube and side of the top tube near the front of the frame. “Pro XXL” and “Bespoke Series” are placed on the seat stays.

This is the second frame in the Bespoke Series and this is the only one made with this color and decal combination. More custom frames to come.

THE SERIAL NUMBER:

My original plan for the serial numbers were to have them go from 1-11 for the painted 20″ and 12-22 for the 24″ then 25-32″ for the raw frames but it didn’t happen that way lol. so the serial numbers are mixed between the raw and painted frames. This frame is SER #SCA009. The SCA stands for Sugar Cayne Anniversary. I made these frames to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of CAC-TV/SugarCayne.com. Yeah I wanted to do something more than just a t-shirt

I really wanted to make a decal design that’s different than the usual ones you see on BMX frames.  The decals are die cut and transferred onto the frame. This process isn’t so easy because if I messed up at any point, I would’ve had to start all over again. And I did….a few time lol.

THE FRAME:

I wanted a raw industrial look with an elegant contrast. I found this cool red sparkle decal tape and I thought that would be a nice match up. I used the same lettering as on the teal frame but used a pin stripe on the top tube, two “Just Rides” on the seat stays and “Bespoke Series” on the chain stays. I’ll be making a series of these Bespoke designs. This is also a One Of One frame decal design. It’s been a lot of fun doing these custom frames and I’m looking forward to doing many more.

When I first thought about doing these custom frames I wanted to make them all unique in their own way. So I started playing around with ideas. I really wanted to make a classy looking 20″ so I used a script font and teal colorway for all the lettering. For the top tube I made a custom checkered pattern which I think came out really cool.  The decals are die cut and transferred onto the frame. This process wasn’t so easy because if I messed up at any point I would’ve had to start all over again. And I did….a few time lol.

THE FRAME:

The frame is mostly raw but I wanted to do something a little different so I hand polished the top of the top tube. I also hand polished three quarters of the seat stays. The hand polishing process is a tedious one. I had to do it over a few times because I messed up on the checker decal lol. But once it was all finished it looks amazing.

This is a One Of One design meaning this is the only frame that I’m doing with decals like this in this color.

The original tagline for CAC-TV.com was “HipHop-BMX-Comics-Life”. I recently changed it to “BMX HipHop And Other Dope Treats”. A while back I wanted to make it easier for people to be able search for the site so I changed the name of the website from CAC-TV to SugarCayne.com.

In commemoration of the 10 year anniversary I wanted to do something special and make a limited edition BMX frame. I designed the frame to reflect my style of riding which encompasses pretty much every aspect of the sport….well except for grinding rails lol! The frame is made out of 6061 aluminum T-6. The top tube and down tube are triple butted. The black and yellow colorway represents the color of the website. I also wanted to use big sized tubing on the down tube and top tube not only for strength but to also for some future Ideas I have for the frame.

I kept the rear end relatively short at 14.6 so the bike will feel comfortable on the track and the trails. Also since I like to jump curbs and do bunny hops, the rear end is short enough where I won’t be braking my back trying to do them

The artwork was inspired by the color scheme of the website over the years. Back when it was CAC-TV.com, the side had a black background with yellow text and sub backgrounds. I eventually went with a white background for the later iterations of the site but kept the black and yellow in there. On the front side of the top tube I put CACTV there to represent the website’s origins. CAC-TV is short for Crazy Al Cayne TV. CAC-TV was the name of my cable access show where I featured HipHop, BMX, comic book culture and comedy. The show aired weekly in Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, Brooklyn and parts of New Jersey. CAC-TV.com was the official website for the show.  Eventually I transitioned everything to the website and Youtube Channel. You’ll see on the seat stays on the frame BMX-HIPHOP-LIFE, which is the current tag line of the website. There’s also the tag line “Just Ride” on the seat tube. “Just Ride” is the motto I live by. It doesn’t matter if your world’s top rider and a newbie, I’m just hype on people just riding and trying out BMX and all off road cycling disciplines.

I’m only doing a super limited run of these frames in the anniversary colors. Ten in 20″ and ten in 24″ sizes for now. Ten frames to represent the 10 year anniversary. I may expand the line and make a Jr, expert, DJ and 29ner sizes.” ~“Crazy” Al Cayne Founder of CAC-TV/SugarCayne.com
